About the Issaquah Valley Trolley
The Issaquah Valley Trolley offers visitors of all ages a scenic, hands-on journey back in time along the tracks from the Depot to Gilman Boulevard. While trolleys never actually ran in Issaquah during its early days (although the concept was considered in 1903), our trolley pays homage to the 1887 railway line that helped shape our town.
Our lovingly restored 1925 vintage streetcar (#519) was originally built for Lisbon, Portugal and re-gauged to run on Issaquah's standard-width tracks. And instead of relying on traditional overhead wires, the trolley now hauls its own electric generator set to power its 600-volt DC motors.
Our #519 car began its service in Issaquah in autumn of 2012 and ran through 2019 before taking a seven-year hiatus. The Issaquah History Museums is delighted and grateful for the opportunity to bring the trolley back again for 2026.
